PAINTING COMMISSIONS

Thank you for your interest in a custom painting!
Commissions are exciting because they combine your tastes and needs with my artistic expression to create a unique and one-of-a-kind work of art. I love collaborating with my collectors to design a painting that complements your home and brings you joy every day!

PROCESS

We begin by deciding the size of the painting, then move on to determining the motif and colour palette, guided by any colour swatches or inspiration images you may have (such as from Pinterest).

After finalizing the details, I will create two to three small sketches to explore the general composition and colour placement. Once you approve one of the sketches, I will proceed to complete the final piece.

Commissions typically take 4-6 weeks to complete. A 20% non-refundable deposit is required before work begins.

Please allow an additional two weeks to have the piece framed, depending on my framer's availability.

(All work is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.)

PRICING

Commission pricing is based on the size of the painting, the time spent, and the materials used.

Each painting is created on a 1.5-inch deep canvas unless otherwise specified.

You're now the proud owner of an original Jayne Sims artwork! To ensure it stays in excellent condition, please follow these tips:

• Avoid using water or cleaning products. Use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.

• Do not hang canvases in direct sunlight, as it can cause damage over time.

Q. What mediums do you use for your art?
I work with a combination of mediums, depending on the piece. This may include watercolours, acrylics, natural pigments, oil pastels, fine art pens, black ink, Posca markers, and natural dyes. Each piece is hand-brushed with a professional varnish (usually two coats) to protect the artwork.

Canvas:
My originals are painted on high-quality stretched canvas and framed in South Australia to the highest standards.
