A true artist is not one who is inspired, but one who inspires others.

Artist Statement

I’ve always been a creative soul, drawn to the beauty in the unpolished and the boldness found in life’s perfect imperfections. As a child, I was happiest exploring the country and on the farm, or feeling the salt of the sea on my skin. These experiences deeply shaped my connection to nature and continue to influence my work today. The colours, textures, and landscapes around me are reflected through my use of colour, mark making, and texture, capturing the essence of the land that surrounds me.

Photography also plays a significant role in my creative process. I often take photos during my walks or explorations, using them as a source of inspiration for my paintings. These images help me translate fleeting moments and feelings into visual form, further enriching my work.

I’m a self-taught artist. While I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember, it wasn’t until later, after years spent in hairdressing, that I felt the strong pull to pursue it professionally. For me, painting has always been a way to express what words often can’t. The outcome of my work is shaped by my emotions and intuition, making each piece a reflection of my inner world. Through art, I feel I can truly connect with myself, the world around me, and the emotions I seek to share with others.
